2016 Sangiacomo Roberts Road Vineyard
The rows at Roberts Road vineyard designated for us typically yield a lighter than average crop and 2016 was no exception. Both clones matured simultaneously so our winemaker harvested and fermented them together to augment the final wine's complexity.
Expressive bouquet of blueberry, cassis, hickory, lilac, and brush is evident. A velvet-textured entry leads to a palate drenched in raspberry with accents of sandalwood and black tea leaf. Pairs brilliantly with seared ahi, sautéed mushrooms atop filet mignon, fontina, seared duck breasts with a cherry sauce, or herb-roasted pork tenderloin.
