2017 - 2018 - 2019 Alder Grove Sauvignon Blanc

2017 - 2018 - 2019 Alder Grove Sauvignon Blanc
Dry Creek Valley

750 ML - $96.00

Alder Grove provides shaded habitat for spawning fish and the trees' roots nourish the soil where the grapes for this Sauvignon Blanc grow. The label features an alder catskin, the tree's flower that blossoms at nearly the same time as the grape berries form.

THE WINE
2017:This inaugural bottling of our Alder Grove Sauvignon Blanc has been a delightful study in juxtaposition: full-bodied in flavor and mid-palate while still quite refreshing. The aromatics begin with lemon meringue, key lime, and white grapefruit yielding to more grassy and classic tropical fruit notes. A mix of new and neutral barrels add breadth and range plus a nuanced woodsy-spicy characteristic.

2018: The 2018 release is a nod to a fine white Bordeaux. The aromatics begin with candied orange and honeyed fig and then evolve to develop into flavors of bitter orange marmalade, pomelo grapefruit, more citrus (less tropical) notes, a mild grassiness, and a tiny amount of freshly
cut dill. A mix of new and neutral barrels add breadth and range while the stainless steel gives a freshness and pop of natural acidity. The mixture of herbs, fruits, and honey plus the refreshingly crisp palate make this wine delightful.

2019: A splendid cornucopia of aromatics and flavor makes this perfect from first to last sip. Complex citrus driven by pomelo grapefruit mingle with honeydew melon and cantaloupe plus a faint hint of freshly cut dill. An intriguing petrol character combines with a blast of minerality at the finish cinching this wines distinctiveness. The palate texture is evocative of
a creamsicle smooth, layered, and enticing. A mix of new and neutral barrels lend floral and spicy notes while the stainless steel gives a freshness and pop of natural acidity and crispness reminiscent of a fine white Bordeaux.
