2016 Rosé
Wine Creek Ranch, Dry Creek Valley

750 ML - $22.00

The Vineyard

Quivira Vineyards is planted to traditional Mediterranean varieties of Grenache, Mourvèdre and Syrah, the backbone of most wines made in Provence and the southern Rhone Valley. The grapes are farmed with a single purpose - to craft wines of the highest caliber. Quivira’s home vineyard, Wine Creek Ranch, possesses a nearly identical climate to Provence - 3,000 hours of sun, warm summers and mild winters. It is the perfect location to nurture the varieties universally considered to make the finest Rosé. From vineyard to bottle, this is an intentional Rosé - a sustained commitment throughout the vintage that yields only the best Rosé.

The Wine

From estate grown fruit, picked and pressed to capture freshness with just a hint of the grape skin’s color. The 2016 harvest was a consistent sequence of hand-picking the different varieties and vineyard blocks one after the other. Each lot was cold-soaked, pressed, and vinified separately. To properly assess the interplay amongst each component part, the final blend was assembled after all lots were dry.

Quivira’s 2016 Rosé is a Grenache-dominated vintage that seduces with an appealing strawberry aroma followed by a delicate, yet full-flavored palate. Thoroughly refreshing, the wine displays just the right amount of soft, gentle vibrancy naturally retained from the long, cool fermentation and aging sur lies. The flavors of white peach, nectarine, and orange rind are focused, concentrated and long. Irresistible in spring and summer, a versatile food pairing wine that brings additional enjoyment to Fall seasonal fare.
